ONE MEMBERS OPINION 

AN OPEN LETTER TO THE NEGOTIATIONS COMMITTEE.......

SCAPE GOAT: Definition - A person or group that is made to bear blame for others. Example - In the Old Testament, on the Day of Atonement, a priest would confess all the sins of the Israelites over the head of a goat and then drive it into the wilderness, symbolically bearing their sins away.

If it was up the majority of the negotiation committee to select a mascot for 223 Nation, I am quite certain that a scape goat would be the perfect animal. I have come to this conclusion after sitting in at our "new" contract offer informational meeting. I would have to estimate that 35% of the meeting consisted of blaming 223 Nation for the union’s woes. Yours truly even received "honorable mention" along with KTM and Jack, I’m guessing that due to constraints of time, was the only reason for the list of honoree’s to be so limited. A certain member of the board seemed to be fixated upon the desire to know the real names of the cowards that fail to reveal themselves. While sitting amongst the angry mob, I wondered as to why this bothers him and others. Those of us that post comments on the Nation are just a focal point of the voices of the many. Certainly not all members share the same opinion, but there are enough to result in my post’s and the other posts that are read, for the most part anyway. Even the negotiation committee would have to agree that some good has come from 223 Nation, as was noticed by the lack of spirits being consumed and everyone staying present for the bitch fest. If the committee seeks praises for their actions, then do something for your union members that is deserving of praise, and you will find it on this website first. To blame the Nation for anything, is to blame the barometer on your wall for the weather outside. If you go back into the history of some of the thoughts of the members on this website, you would have to admit that you have received fair warning. Over a year ago I even placed a message of no more 45 day notices under the title "What weapon do we surrender this time" . Now look at the mess that you are in! 223 Nation is a tool for the negotiation committee to use also. I would strongly suggest that you employ this tool and put aside your self-destructive anger. Now it is my understanding that a weather front is moving in, therefore I must send a nasty email to the Weather Channel for causing it to snow.
